Why I do what I do When you are fortunate enough to teach this sort of work, you are lucky enough to see the profound changes and differences it brings to people’s lives. Having worked with everyone from the super fit to the terminally ill, I’ve seen how something as simple as the principle of breathing and learning to control breath can enhance an athlete’s performance or be an essential part of someone’s pain management.
The extraordinary gift of this work is that the same exercise can have a huge affect in so many ways, In short, the Method works on multiple levels. Just as no day is ever the same, no one body I teach is the same from one day to the next. Despite following the classical sequence in all my Mat classes, I'm told my classes are never the same and maybe that’s because equally, my perspective changes from one day and one client to the next.
The truth is I never thought I would be a teacher. The profession seemed to choose me. And I’m so glad it did because I’ve found it more ultimately satisfying than anything I’ve ever done in my life.
It’s as much a cliché to say I bounce out of bed every morning as it is to say that when you find a job you love, you never work another day in your life. However, these sentiments are no less ubiquitous or true for being clichés. And I'm truly blessed to be able to bring my passions to others on a daily basis and more broadly through my Retreats."Some men have thousands of reasons why they cannot do what they want to, when all they need is one reason why they can.”
