Frequently Asked Questions

Your Questions Answered

Below you’ll find the answers to some of the questions we get asked most often. If you can’t find an answer here or would like more information, feel free to contact us.

Why do I have to sign up in blocks as opposed to just dropping in on classes?

All my classes are strictly limited to 12 spaces. This means that every participant gets the right level of attention in class .

It is also essential that everyone who comes to class is pre-enrolled as this mean I can get a comprehensive history of your general health and any injuries before you start coming to class.

It also allows me the chance to see how you move, make sure you’re in the most appropriate class for your level and to check whether you need to seek medical permission before attending class.

If I miss a class in person, can I make it up?

Wherever possible, I let people make up for missed classes in another suitable class.

However, I do ask that you let me know in advance so that classes aren’t overbooked.

While that means I cannot always guarantee space, I will always try my best to fit you in.

I am pregnant, can I continue in classes?

I don’t teach those who are in the first trimester of pregnancy.

After this period, you can participate in a Pilates for pregnancy class, but not a general class.

Do you teach beginners?

I don’t currently have any beginners’ classes running but I would strongly suggest taking at least an introduction to Pilates before starting any classes.

Organisations such as Body Control Pilates have lists of accredited teachers you can contact directly.

Are your classes available on Zoom?

Yes – since the start of the pandemic, we have made classes available via Zoom. Full details of our in-person and Zoom-only classes are available here.

You will receive the Zoom link and details about how to view when you enroll on a course.

What equipment do you use in class?

In class, I sometimes use small equipment such as toning balls, circles and bands to compliment the mat work exercises.

If I cancel my session do I still have to pay for it?

For 1-1 studio workshop bookings, I require 48 hours cancellation notice otherwise the full fee is charged.

Mat Class blocks are paid for in advance and are non-refundable.

What do I need to bring to class?

The main thing is a willingness to learn.  But other than that, just comfy clothing – the more I see, the more I can correct, remember!

Everything else is available at the Hall or Studio.
